Customer: Internet Initiatives Development Fund  (IIDF)

Project aim: Analytical and organizational and technical support to the  IIDF activities to define a road map for the development of the Internet of Things in Russia aimed at enhancing the competitiveness of Russia’s manufacturing sector and creation of new high-tech markets

Project goals:

  1. Analysis of government  programs  supporting  IoT development abroad
  2. Identification of the potential for creation of  IoT product and technology  platforms  in Russia;
  3. Drawing up a list of recommendations for creation of  a road map for the IoT development in Russia

Research results:

  • Government  programs  supporting  IoT development abroad were analyzed ;
  • Key aspects of the implementation of projects for  creation of  IoT platforms  in Russia were identified;
  • Careful consideration was given to key technology trends of the Internet of things;
  • Barriers and drivers for bringing IoT technologies to the Russian market were determined
  • Potential partners for cooperation on presentation of the National IoT roadmap were identified

Gartner Inc. defines the  Internet of Things (IoT) as the network of physical objects that contain embedded technology to communicate and sense or interact with their internal states or the external environment.  Another concept that has been recently gaining more attention is the Internet of Everything  (IoE) -  the intelligent connection of people, process, data and things, which, according to the Cisco company,  makes networked connections more relevant and valuable than ever before.
