Radiation Technology Foresight
The project is implemented by the Nuclear Cluster of Skolkovo Foundation (coordinator of the Russian Technology Platform “Radiation Technologie”) with the support of the «Center for Strategic Research «North-West»Foundation.
Key project participants:
- Nuclear Technologies Cluster of Skolkovo Foundation
- Rosatom State Corporation
- Rostekhnologii State Corporation
- KurchatovInstituteResearchCenter
- «Center for Strategic Research «North-West»Foundation.
Project aim: to assess global prospects оf radiation technologies in general and for Russian radiation technologies in particular; to posotion the Russian Federation as an active and long-term player in the radiation technologies markets (both as a «seller», and as a «buyer»). The Project results would determine the strategic directions of radiation technology development and would be used as a basis for launching new industrial technology development projects in Russia.
The Foresight is conducted as a joint research , with participation of major manufacturing companies from different industries and leading research institutes. The key feature of the launched research is communication between representatives of different sectors and spheres (heads of industrial enterprises, leading industry and market experts, foreign companies, representatives of higher education and academic research institutions). The key actors would coordinate their strategies in their respective sectors, fixing their market positions and target (desired) market state during series of joint events (planning sessions, strategic games, etc.).
Joint events on implementation of the Project would be held at the key Russian forums, leading science and technology universities and under the auspices of development institutions. It is also planned to conduct a specialized international conference on long-term guidelines for technological growth of Russian and international radiation technology companies. The results of the conference would be published as public research reports. Leading experts from best research institutes, universities and technology companies would set up the International Advisory Council. This council would be responsible for the reference group formation, examination of strategies, developed as part of the Technology Platform, international relations and expert evaluation of the first-generation plans and research programs.
It also planned to set up six working groups, by markets for application of radiation technologies: «medical industry», «security», «food and water», «energy», «heavy industry» and «science». Each group would consist of Russian and international representatives of industry-specific companies — developers, researchers, production engineers, consumers, regulators and experts in the sphere of high-tech business and investment.
