CSR «North-West» and RQC Are Conducting a Foresight on Quantum Technologies
The Center for Strategic Research "North-West" and the Russian Quantum Center (RQC) have launched a project on the foresight of quantum technologies.
The first joint event was the foresight session held on April 3, 2017 on the site of the “Boiling Point” co-working center in Moscow. The event was aimed at making a forecast by joint efforts of representatives of science, industry and development institutions, identifying bifurcation points for research, technology and markets for quantum communications, sensors and computing.
Among the participants of the foresight session were leading researchers from the institutes of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology, Tomsk Polytechnic University, St. Petersburg State University, Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology, ITMO University, Lobachevsky Univertsity of Nizhny Novgorod, representatives of such companies as Oracle, RosElectronics, Kaspersky Lab, Sberinvest, T8, as well as Russian Venture Company, the Foundation for Advanced Studies, the Skolkovo Foundation (Nuclear Technology Cluster) and the FAS Russia’s Expert Council for State Defense Procurement.
The methodology of the session, the Disruptive Foresight developed by the CSR "North-West", focuses on identification of events that contribute to change of system, as well as conditions under which a vector or a type of development changes.
Results of the session will be summarized in reports featuring the latest challenges, megatrends and breakthroughs in the development of quantum technologies.
